Blackjack is a casino game recognized as highly rewarding and completely beatable. The game itself is enjoyable to play, so you will surely enjoy hours of playing blackjack while at the same time win a lot of cash rewards. Before you can get started with playing blackjack, you must first understand the basic blackjack rules.

You may come across different blackjack tables with different sets of rules, but you will always play against a dealer that stands on a 17; keep in mind that some casinos are trying to improve their house advantage by allowing their dealers to hit on soft 17s, so make sure you check the table rules before you start playing.

You can double down when you play blackjack to increase your stake as well as your potential return. When doubling down, you will receive another card to add to your hand total. Aside from doubling down, you can also split pairs – and sometimes re-split pairs – and double down after splitting as well. These moves are very useful when you want to improve your profitability or when you have a solid starting hand.

Aside from doubling down and splitting, some blackjack tables allow you to surrender. If you start with a relatively bad hand, for example, you can choose to surrender and lose only half of your initial wager. When used properly, surrender can really help you lower your risks and make playing blackjack much more rewarding in the long-run. Late surrender is better, since you can surrender after the dealer peaks for a blackjack.
